In the Auto Expo 2020, Hyundai had on display the facelift Hyundai Tucson. However, due to the outbreak of the global coronavirus pandemic, the launch was delayed for a considerable time. Now that the unlock is in progress, sources have confirmed that Hyundai will launch its facelift Tucson on 14th July 2020.
The car has gone through some cosmetic changes as well as technical changes. It will be available in a 2.0 Litre engine in both petrol and diesel fuel type. In a shift from the pre-facelift model, the engines are now BS6 compliant. The petrol engine will come in a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine will have an 8-speed automatic transmission option, as opposed to the 6-speed automatic transmission option in the pre-facelift model of the car. The power of the engine is expected to be 149 HP for the petrol engine, and 182 HP for the diesel engine.
Talking about the changes in the exteriors of the car, the new Tucson is about to get bigger cascading grille than the ones fitted in the models before. It will also feature 18 inches alloy wheels, LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, and rain-sensing wipers. The front and the rear bumpers of the car have also been slightly revamped to give the car an all-new and fresh look.
Peeping on the inside, there is a change in the design of the dashboard, which is now highlighted by an 8 inches touchscreen infotainment system. Added features of the car include electric front-passenger seat adjustment features, electric parking brake, Hyundai Blue Link, wireless charger for smartphones, and a panoramic sunroof.
The price for Hyundai Tucson ranges between 18.76 Lakh to 26.96 Lakh, and the facelift version will charge a premium over that. It will be competing with the likes of Jeep Compass and Honda CR-V.
