The motor of Jawa and Jawa Forty-two has been updated for the BS6 models and features several notable improvements which are definitely commendable.
The Jawa and Jawa Forty-two are models by Classic Legends Private Limited and the company has already begun the delivery of the updated version through the various dealership partners the company has all over the country. Bothe the models still retains the single-cylinder, liquid cooled, dual overhead cam of DOHC engine that has 293 cc power. However, according to the company, both the model have undergone significant upgrades which also comply with the Bharat Stage VI or BS6 regulations regarding emissions. The emission is now regulated very stringently and the torque and power has taken a slight hit because of that, but there are improvements that can compensate these minor drawbacks.
What are the new updates
There are several new updates related to the Jawa and Jawa Forty-two. Both the models used to feature cross port technology. This can increase the volumetric efficiency of the bike and hence there is an overall better flow of charge and exhaust gases. It also helps to increase the power and torque of the bike. However, with the changes made to ensure the engine is cleaner, the torque and power produced by the bike has taken a slight hit. The new updated BS6 models make 26.14 bhp power and 27.05 highest torque. However compared to the BS4 version this is less. The power of the BS4 27 bhp and the torque is 28Nm.
The major changes that the BS6 bikes have been updated with are as follows:
- The lambda sensors are positioned in a new pattern which enables it to monitor the internal and the external variables of the bike better. This also ensure that the performance of the bike is consistent and the emission is cleaner. It also monitors the level of oxygen so that the air-fuel mixture is kept under control and the engine combustion is efficiently managed.
- The throttle response of the bike has also been improved so that it can respond to the tiniest input precisely and the fuelling of the bike is improved as well.
- The seat have been improved with a better and new seat pan and cushion so that the bike is comfortable enough even fore long rides.
- The aesthetics of the bike has also been improved with a robust chrome plating which has a rating of two and a half times of the industry standards.
