Hyundai, one of the leading automobile players in India, had planned to launch the new Hyundai Verna on 26th March 2020. This much-awaited launch was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, but then eventually took place in mid of May.
Launched at a starting price of INR 9.31 Lakh and going up to INR 15.11 Lakh, each model comes with its own set of specifications. Check out the petrol and diesel variants, along with their price below:

Features of the New Hyundai Verna 2020
The old Hyundai Verna was launched in 2017 with a starting price of INR 8 Lakh, but the new Hyundai Verna 2020 has been launched at a starting price of INR 9.3 Lakh, going up to 13.4 Lakh. This considerable shift in the price is owing to the added features, such as-
- BS6 Compliant Engine: There are three engine variants in the new Hyundai Verna. It comes with the 1.5 Litre petrol engine with a maximum power of 113 HP, 1.5 Litre diesel engine with a maximum power of 113 HP, and 1 Litre turbo petrol engine with an output of 118 HP. This has seen a shift from the previous Verna model engines of 1.5 Litre petrol, 1.5 Litre diesel, and 1.4 Litre diesel powerplants.
- Exterior: The new Hyundai Verna’s dimensions are a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, a total length of 4,400 mm, the height of 1,475 mm and width of 1,729 mm. The characteristic features of the Verna headlamps are that it comes equipped with cornering lamps, LED tail lamps and full LED headlamps. The car is also highlighted by dark chrome front radiator grille. Along with, the new Hyundai Verna comes with sturdy diamond-cut alloy wheels. This new facelift Verna is available in 6 colour options including Fiery Red, Phantom Black, Polar White, Starry Night, Titan Grey and Typhoon Silver.
- Interiors: The interiors of this car are defined by dual-tone premium interiors in beige and black, while the top model comes with suave black with red accent colour palette. Hyundai has also stressed upon the safety of all passengers by providing 6 airbags, impact sensing auto door lock feature, and hill start assist control.
- Mileage: The petrol engine of both the manual model and automatic model of Verna has a mileage of 19.1 Kmpl, while the diesel engine of the manual and automatic model has a mileage of 24.8 Kmpl.
- Infotainment and Connectivity: The infotainment system of the new Hyundai Verna comes with a 20.32 cm touchscreen HD display. It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and has voice recognition feature for ease of use. The steering wheel also comes with audio and Bluetooth control.
- Convenience: Hyundai has also taken care of the passenger experience by adding the latest features such as wireless charging, front and rear USB charging ports, glove box cooling and front ventilated seats. Another worth mentioning attribute of the new Hyundai Verna is that it comes with geofencing technology.
Overall, it is a refined design with all the latest feature and fuel options in both automatic and manual transmission types. It will face competition with the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento.
