The Bajaj Avenger Street BS6 160 was launched for INR 94, 893 and it is approximately INR 11,642 more expensive than the BS4 Avenger Street 160. The bike is on its way to select dealers and already pre bookings have commenced for the model. In the new model, fuel injection and catalytic convertors have been added which are responsible for the price hike. It also meets all kinds of strict emission norms and at the same time retains the 15PS power output. The torque has also increased to 13.7 NM which is approximately 0.2Nm that the older model.
The upgraded Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is almost similar to the previous model except for the few changes mentioned earlier. It still retains the telescopic front fork design as well as twin rear fork shock absorbers. It has a 260mm front disc and has a single channel ABS along with 130 mm rear drum. Suzuki Intruder BS6 is considered the greatest competitor of this model. This model is considered to be one of the most affordable cruisers in India and comfortable for long journeys. However, it still do not have the dual-channel ABS which is considered a downside as well.
Specifications
It is a cruiser bike with self-start and single channel ABS. The odometer, speedometer, trip meter are all digital and there is a low battery indicator too. The consoles are digitized as well. The engine of this model is single cylinder and twin spark DTS-i. It works on fuel injected design and 4 strokes. There is one cylinder with two valves and the bore is 56mm. With 160cc engine and power of 15PS and 8500rpm, these bikes are quite powerful. The emission is BS6 and the torque of the bike is 13.7 Nm and 7000 rpm. This is also one of the few cruisers that is suitable for long as well as short journeys.
