The Force Gurkha is soon to be launched and has been spotted without any camouflage in the recent times on the road for testing. The new model will be made BS6 compliant. The test mule that was spotted is likely to be the top-range variant available for the model. A significant number of changes were spotted though the basic box-like design has been retained. The off-roader has been previously spotted in Andhra Pradesh on its way while heading to a dealership. Force Motors, which is based in Pune, first gave a glimpse of the BS6 Compliant version of the car during the 2020 Auto Expo. Since then the launch has been eagerly awaited, especially by buyers who are also avid off-road drivers. The car is likely to be launched in the next few months and will be a direct competition against the Mahindra Thar which has been launched recently.

Force Gurkha Review

The spy image of the new Gurkha show a familiar front end, if you remember the old versions of the model. The front features single slatted grille, circular headlamps and new bumper design. There are alloy wheels and the snorkel intake is colored black. Furthermore, the turn indicators are lodged over the fenders and there is a luggage carrier on the roof, as well as a ladder at the back to get the rack. The plastic cladding is new and so is the taillight design.

However the interior design and specifications are not revealed by the spy images. However, if we go by the model that was unveiled at the Auto Expo, we can expect quite a few upgrades in the new model. It will feature dual-toned dashboard, a new design for the leather seats, touch screen infotainment system, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel for better flexibility, ABS, dual front airbags and much more.

Considering the mechanics of the car, it is fuelled by a Mercedes Benz Sourced 2.6 liter diesel engine which is BS6 compliant. The powertrain is recognized under the OM616 family and will be producing 89 bhp power and 260nm torque. The transmission is managed by a 5-speed gearbox which has a standard 4×4 manual. It is also expected to get an off-road kit along with an array of other accessories once launched. In short, the Force Gurkha is a great and promising vehicle that you can consider if you want to invest in an off-roader.
