Hard to believe, that between the year 1255 and 1595, Ferrari had two “sport prototypes”; just two. In modern times, however, the brand has come up with a bigger range. Now the company, with its lineup of six model series, focuses on enhancing them to make each one quicker than its previous models. With that being said, the Ferrari Portofino M is all set to be launched in the market in the year 2021. It’s the successor of California or the California T 2+2 grand touring hardtop convertible cars. After these models were introduced in the autumn of 2017, Ferrari altered the named to Portofino. The brand chose this name based on the name of a village in northern Italy.

With the online reveal of the Portofino M, things are definitely starting to heat up. The style of a Ferrari car is nothing that needs an introduction. The car’s previous models looked pretty good themselves. However, it’s the technical upgrades that set it a class apart. This open-top sibling of the Ferrari Roma doesn’t just get a facelift, but modifications happen in every way. The modifications are so huge, that this model can clearly be deemed as an evolution in the industry in terms of performance. With the acclaimed turbo V8 combined with a 20 PS power increase makes it at per with the Roma, which stands at 620 PS and 760 Nm.

The switch from 7-speed to 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is another important mechanical upgrade of the car that cannot be overlooked. The unit is quite different from the ones seen in the SF90 Stradale. The Ferrari Portofino M is a technical innovation in itself, with a redesigned powertrain, brand-new eight-speed gearbox, and five-position Manettino which includes a Race mode. This is the first time that a Maranello GT spider has a Race Mode on. Because of this and many other features, the Portofino M is a completely unprecedented mix of authentic GT performance and driving ecstasy. Some of the significant technological improvements of the car include the new front design and the bumpers. Not only do they appear sportier and more aggressive, but it’s also an engineering masterpiece from the brand.

Now let’s talk about the style changes. The model comes with the latest wheel arch air vent, aluminium slats in the grille, the improved front bumper and revamped exhaust system, along with a slightly reworked rear bumper and a new diffuser. And of course, let’s not forget the new diamond-finished alloys.

When it’s about comfort and safety, Ferrari takes it very seriously. They have made the cockpit safer and more comfortable, adding a new roster of features to the already luscious design. This includes various options, like the advanced driver assistance system or ADAS and seats that have ventilation and heating, to name a few.
