Each of the Jupiter line-up of TVS comes with a 110 cc single-cylinder engine and fuel-injection. The range offers 7.4 bhp at around 7000 rpm with a peak torque of 8.4 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Along with the engine, comes a CVT gearbox. This scooters also come equipped with patented Econometer from TVS that also has an Eco Mode and Power Mode. According to the company, this engine will provide better fuel economy when you drive in Eco mode. According to the brand, TVS, the bike delivers better fuel efficiency in its eco-mode.

Despite the price increase, there is not much change in the features though. The Jupiter range has the same LED headlamp and tail light. The scooters also have a 2-litre open glovebox, an external fuel lid and an under-seat storage compartment of 21 litres. However, only the ZX and classic variants come with a front USB charger. The storage capacity of the bike was already quite high though with a hike, some major changes are always expected.

By the way, it’s not just the TVS Jupiter range that the company has increased the price to, but also the TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 has got a price hike by Rs.5, 000 as well. The interesting thing about this range is that upon launch, it was already more expensive than the BS4 variants of TVS and the price was Rs.2, 40 lakh. The price difference was already around INR 16,000. Now, with the recent hike in price, the ex-showroom price of the Apache RR 310 stands at Rs.2, 45 lakh.

The TVS Jupiter range is a cult favourite for regular drive and has always been among those scooters which are on the affordable side. The upcoming price hike with no significant upgrade may not fare well with many customers who were otherwise looking forward to investing in this particular model.
