After the concept version of the Nissan Magnite made its first appearance last week, there are leaked images of the new production-spec design of the subcompact SUV making the rounds of the internet. These leaked images provide ample details regarding the front of the vehicle. And from these images it’s clear that the final version will be very close to the concept design. This SUV is Nissan’s next big model being launched in India that will cater to the volume-friendly users. The sale is supposedly to start in 2021 instead of its original launch date during the festive season. This is due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the following nationwide lockdown.

Now let’s talk about some of the details of the vehicle which you’ll be expecting in this new SUV. The model will have L-shaped garnish on the bumper instead of the LED DRLs of the concept version. However, it will still have the sharp and stylish headlamps though. The car comes with some massive grills with chunky black plastic mesh and chrome surrounds. But it’s the bumper that will draw the most attention with its brushed aluminium-finished faux diffuser. Overall the design is pretty impressive and for those who were left impressed by the concept design last week, are definitely in for a treat.

The final version that will be launched next year will bear certain resemblances with the concept version as well as have some add-ons. There is a possibility that the leaked images belong to a mid-variant of the 2021 Nissan Magnite, which means the range-topping version will be more impressive with its chrome detailing on the bumper, projector lens and LED daytime running lights, not to mention the L-shaped DRLs on these high-end models.

But there hasn’t been much information regarding the cabin thought. Although Nissan has disclosed that it’ll have tons of features, including four airbags, Apply CarPlay and Android Auto along with a touchscreen infotainment system of 8”. Also, the engine is expected to be a 1 litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine or an internal combustion engine that will be taking air in based on the atmospheric pressure and won’t require a turbocharger to force air through. This type of engine is found in the Renault Triber as well, which is shown to belt out an input brake horsepower of 71. Another variant with a 1 litre turbo petrol engine is also in the making that will give an output of 99bhp. These engines will have a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. The best part about the Nissan Magnite is that it’s based on the CMF A+ platform which is developed by Renault and Nissan jointly and the current product of this venture is the Triber.

So far Nissan has only launched the Kicks SUV and the GT-R, making the SUV the entry-level offering of the brand. After its launch, it is expected that even Renault will be launching a new subcompact SUV known as the Kiger.
