About New Ford Edge this car: –

The midsize SUV’s is very popular and in demand, since from a very long time. The forthcoming generation demands for SUVs is crazy. This is making Avery automobile manufacturers for a new SUV must be designed. Not only USA, UAE but the whole world wants to launch a new SUV every season. The major reason, SUV being successful in the market, is because of its comfort and performance. Coming with a lot of features, this car is packed with infotainment system features. it has a decent size of the LED touchscreen, with full smartphone combination and a spacious cabin that is a little bit even at the speeds. This car is an average family car, with a five-seater option. Whereas, with its lacklustre drive, small score cabin materials, and old-fashioned looks, some of the rivals like Honda Passport, Mazda CX – 9 and Toyota highlander is still in a strong position. This car will have three variants models, and all the models are built up with a two-litre turbocharged four-cylinders with the main outcome of 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque control capability. It is driven with four four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive system with avoidance of eight-speed automatic gear box.

This car is going to be launched in 2020 December last.

Exterior of New Ford Edge: –

In exterior part, the Edge measures 188.6 inches in length, height is about 68.3 inches and width are about 75.9 inches. It has wheelbase of 112.2 inches. The front look of this car is fabulous, it is operated with four headlights, with the chromatic details painted in silver colour, the chromatic detail is sharp and round. The Edge look like a daily going SUV.

The lights are provided like, Bi LED low and high beam automatic headlights, there is LED daytime running lights and LED taillights is also provided in a standard way. The model SEL one lacks in these lights. The front façade is painted with black plastic and a silver roof rail is provided on top. The sides give a rugged look. The car is built up with St styled front and rear bumper, the SE and SEL car is equipped with an 18-inch aluminium wheels, its wheels are different in style. The cars wheel is painted with a 19 inches lustre nickel painted aluminium wheels based on the quality of Titanium. The ST range gets the largest 20 inches wheels., painted with glossy black. And ST one stands apart in all the above range with the ST styled bumpers, ST grilles, signature LED light, black roof rails and side skirting of 4 inches done in bottom. the curb weight recorded is 250 pounds.

There are various colour options available in this range. The range of colours provided in the exterior is in descent shade. More of muted tone is selected for this range, such as grey, white, Stoney grey, sea green, white gold and have been discontinued. New colours are available now, like Rapid red, white, Persian green, gold and many more.

Personally, I got attracted by velvet burgundy and the metallic one.

Performance and engine of New Ford Edge: –

The performance of this Edge is superb, as recorded from data it gives mileage of 19-29 mph, based on the roads. The torque tolerance and the horsepower this car gives is fantastic. It gives the output of 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0 litre turbocharged four tub engine makes the descent acceleration. the edge is provided with eight-speed gearbox transmission. The eight-speed gear box is good, but it has some demerits too. But ultimately Ford will think about this issue in future.

New Ford edge Interior: –

The interior of this car is very spacious and excellent. The only thing, which I didn’t like its concept. The concept still looks outdated. The quality of material used in this car’s interior is a little bit outdated and of low-grade materials. While the product used in the exterior is very well composed. The driver seat is adjustable and provided with a headrest as well. The arm rest and door storage are given. Though, its oils made for five-seater, space management is fantastic. Knee room, leg room, head room is equally divided.

The Edge upholstery made up of cloth, and a proper ten-way power-adjustable seat of drivers are standard in quality. The leather quality is genuine, the steering wheels are wrapped in it. A heated and power-adjustable passengers’ seat, driver’s seat memory settings, ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.

For the child security, the car has two complete couple of Latches, connecting the back outboard seats and the upper lead anchor for the middle seat. The seats in middle also borrow a lower anchor from each side. The anchors provided in lower are in couple, these are intensely settled. This might bring the confusion for the other hardware’s. They seat can be bended uproot an angle of 60/40., and it is built up with a folding centre arm rest. The seats re very comfortable and well cushioned too. There is eight inches touchscreen infotainment system, which is well connected to all functions. The buttons control over climate, music, GPS, Bluetooth, Radio and lighting system.

Infotainment: –

If there’s one area where the Ford Edge comes out tops in comparison with rivals, it’s in its standard infotainment setup. Every model comes fitted with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with an integrated AM/FM stereo. A stock six-speaker audio system is standard in the SE, with a premium nine-speaker sound system in the SEL. The Titanium is fitted with a premium 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system as standard, which is also optional for the SEL. All models are installed with Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment software, which includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, Ford Pass Connect with 4G LE Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and SiriusXM satellite radio. There are two USB charge ports and a single auxiliary input jack upfront, four 12-volt power outlets throughout, and – in the Titanium only – a wireless charging pad and a single 110-volt AC power outlet. A voice-activated navigation system is available for the SEL and Titanium.

Safety in New Ford Edge: –

In terms of safety, the car has been an awarded by NHTSA and IIHS. The NHTSA claims that the brakes, FWD and AWD are in good positions. Edge got an excellent rating in terms of safety, recorded as per data is five stars out of five, in car crash test. The rating was very much influenced by the quality of lights. The lights are updated and well made though.

Along with the well-made lighting futures, the eight airbags provided in this car, upraised its ratings. There is eight number of standard airbags, including knee airbags, there is also hill start assist, child lock braking, anti-theft, power locks in doors are some of the major qualities. Some of the safety features like 360-degree camera view, elusive steering wheels, emergency breaking, lane keep assist system and adaptive cruise controls are introduced.
