As the emission norms have changed drastically from BS4 to BS6, many major bike manufacturers have taken a serious hit in the business as unsold units have to be withdrawn. One of the premium brands to face this is the Indian Motorcycle! According to Lalit Sharma, Country Manager of Polaris confirmed that the BS6 motorcycles will be available in the market at the end of this year. However, bikers who are still out there looking for the Indian FTR 1200 models, can get the pre-registered BS4 at a significant discount. The bikes were registered before the BS6 emission norms came into play in April 2020. All the available models are registered in Haryana and will be shipped to the dealers from whom the buyers have booked them.
According to the company, these bikes are already in stock and pre-registered because they were manufactured and registered in the month of March. All of them are brand new and available. The company expect the stocks to be cleared in the next couple of months after which the new set of bikes which comply to the new emission norms will be launched. The available pre-registered bikes are zero-mileage bikes and crate packed and the registration is done in the name of the company. All the related facts will be disclosed to the buyers and hence they can set aside any apprehension about the product and rest assured that they are brand new.
The company do not have an open discount policy but buyers can avail the discount on a case to case basis. In case the customer wish to buy the bike and transfer it to another state that can become a problem in terms of registration and other formalities which are all the factors considered while offering the discount. In April 2020, the FTR 1200 got a discount of INR 3.85 lakhs on the road price which is around INR 20.16 lakhs. The current road price of the bike is INr 22.67 lakhs and there is a discount of approximately INR 3.57 lakhs. The discount may vary from one dealership to another and is another factor that buyers have to be aware of while placing the order. In the end, it can be concluded that if you have the amount to spare, then the FTR 1200 bikes are definitely a good deal and this is the perfect time to pick one up, given the stocks are limited.
